Burning Regulations

BURN BANS:
Contrary to popular belief, PVES does not regulate whether or not you can burn. The
“burn ban” is decided by county officials. Please follow these rules:

• Notify the following places:
  • Grayson County Sheriff’s office at 903-813-4411
  • Notify PVES 903-786-3010
• No fires are allowed with wind conditions over 20 mph
• Burn only organic materials such as leaves, brush and cut trees on the ground
• Do not burn trash or building materials
• You must be present at the fire at all times
• All fires must be extinguished by dusk
